Abstract

If Celan’s poems present a condition of “irreducibility” beginning with its “idiomatic singularity” (Derrida), that irreducible oblige to consider the untranslatable of this poetic language. Regarding it the way Allemann does, speaking of “neologisms”, or the way Hamacher analyses the “paronomasias”, we find ourselves facing a language that contravenes the grammar, using although its procedures to create a new language. The celanian poem resists the conventional interpretation and creates a semantic instability in which the reference of the words and the representation of the images avoid a “decryption”. The aim of this paper is to inquire in these linguistic procedures of Celan’s language as a way to present the analysis that we know incomplete and impossible, but necessary.
