Abstract

This paper discusses the lexico-syntactic similarity between the filler and the gap of a movement dependency under Trace Theory and Copy Theory. The relevant data seems to show that the filler-gap isomorphism is a phenomenon that does not follow from any narrow syntactic operation, but from interpretative principles of the interfaces.
